Changemakers: d.light
After meeting his now co-founder, Sam Goldman (MBA ‘07) at Stanford GSB, Ned Tozun, (MBA ‘07), realized that access to technology, particularly electricity, is a fundamental right. Driven to find a way to end a huge percentage of the world’s reliance on kerosene, they created a portable solar lantern prototype in 2006. Upon graduating the MBA program in 2007, they founded D.light - a company focused on creating sustainable, safe, and affordable solar product. Their first product was launched to the marketplace in 2008.
Since then, D.light has transformed nearly 155,000,000 154,501,519 lives across 70 countries and offset 32 million tons of CO2. Enabling people to have access to a brighter future through accessing renewable energy.
In this ongoing video series, we showcase Stanford GSB alumni who are striving to change lives, organizations, and the world
