Tuesday morning update: Laura becomes hurricane - here's where it's headed
Hurricane Laura has formed and it should become the season's first major hurricane. Meteorologist Dave Nussbaum has the projected path to the Louisiana-Texas border.
Laura seems to be following a similar path to Hurricane Rita in 2005, which made a landfall in a similar spot to where Laura is expected to hit - both as major hurricanes.
