At Kabul airport as the evacuation deadline gets closer, British paratroopers are tonight co-operating with their once sworn enemies the Taliban, to get as many people out as they can.
Those lucky enough to have the right paperwork pass from watchful Taliban soldiers to the British troops who are the gatekeepers of their rescue.
