Vigor Ground: The Go-Giving Gym
Back in April, I participated in a "charity boot-camp" at the Vigor Ground Fitness and Performance gym in Renton, WA. This was unlike any other workout I had ever done. It was intense, fast-paced, and it thoroughly kicked my butt. And though the workout itself could leave anyone gasping for air (believe me), the purpose of the event could leave one breathless: to raise money to help beat cancer.
Raising money for charities is nothing new to Vigor Ground and its owner Luka Hocevar. Hocevar is a big proponent of giving back. All the donation money raised in these charity workouts (hosted every weekend) go to a charity. For just a $10 donation, I worked up a sweat like never before and felt good knowing that helped a great cause.
Inspired by the book "The Go-Giver" by Bob Burg and John David Mann, Hocevar has been incorporating giving back and charity into his business, which has not only benefited his business, but the charities he helps as well. He has inspired other local gyms and businesses to give back to the community as well and it has gone a long way.
The atmosphere was incredible. There was so much support from each and everyone in the gym for each other. High fives were plentiful as were words of encouragement. If you are ever looking for a great workout while looking to help out a good cause, check out Vigor Ground and their charity boot-camps.
