The Sounds Of Cosmos - Music from the original PBS version

140 minutes of some of my favourite music from the original televised version of the Cosmos tv series. It's an eclectic mix of electronic, classical, experimental and folk music whose use would be considered bold even by today's standards but in 1980 was completely unprecedented. The visuals are public domain NASA images mostly from the Hubble Space Telescope. Most of the music is available via streaming providers and Itunes. Lossless downloads can be purchased via Qobuz in some countries.

Because it is a non-profit organisation, PBS was able to freely use this music in the series. When Cosmos was released on vhs a number of years later, much of the above music could not be cleared and was replaced with different (and, in my opinion, inferior) selections. That music was carried over onto the dvd.
