Taylor Swift Deepfake Video $1,000 Visa Gift Card Scam, Exposed
There's a Taylor Swift deepfake video scam going around in paid promotions on Facebook and Instagram claiming she is giving away $1,000 Visa gift cards that leads to swifties-united.com. None of it is legit. She is not holding a giveaway in ads on Facebook and Instagram. The scam appeared to be going around in early April 2024 and may have been circulating earlier with other captions.
The Taylor Swift $1,000 Visa gift card scam promises you can get free money. Promises of free money can often be signs of a surefire scam. If you see an offer that seems too good to be true, just know that it probably is. Don't fall for this kind of garbage. These offers just aren't ever going to be real.
I knew this was a scam as soon as I saw it. Taylor Swift would not be announcing some sort of big giveaway or contest on a strangely-named Facebook page. If she ever did hold a giveaway of any kind, it would probably be done on her official and verified Facebook or Instagram account, or perhaps she would partner with a big-name company or charity and the promotion would be featured on their trustworthy, verified page.
The promise of the $1,000 Visa gift card is something scammers have done in recent years with MrBeast. I didn't see deepfakes with MrBeast but the prize money was apparently the same value.
In the Taylor Swift deepfake video, you can tell her mouth movements have been manipulated. That's what a deepfake video is. They manipulate mouth movements to make it look like people said something they never actually said. New vocals are also generated with the use of artificial intellgence (AI). If you are someone who doesn't have your contacts in or glasses on, or you're looking at your phone in bed and aren't paying attention, it might be believable, even though it seems obvious it's a fake.
Please stay away from this scam. Like this video, comment, subscribe and feel free to hit the thanks and join buttons.
