PayPal HP Pavilion 15.6-Inch Laptop Scam Order Confirmation Email, Explained (April 2024)

A scam is going around in April 2024 claiming PayPal is sending order confirmation emails for an HP Pavilion 15.6-Inch laptop purchase. However, these are not legitimate invoices or receipts from PayPal. Scammers are hoping to strike fear into you to lead you to believe someone purchased an HP laptop on your PayPal account without your permission. They then will hope you dial the phone number included in the fake invoice. That phone number goes directly to scammers, not PayPal or HP. The scammers will pretend to be PayPal.
