FLL 2015 Trash Trek Trophy Idea

I came up with a simple Trash Trek themed trophy and made our teams (we have 2 teams) the trophies for the end of the trash trek season. A little something to remember their FLL Trash Trek Challenge. I’m not going to be adding the mini-figures, due to cost… but there is a little plaque with their info on it, next to a recycle bin. I cut the names/logos on vinyl and placed on the built Lego pieces (the Silhouette Cameo works well for cutting the vinyl - though the size being so small it took some effort to weed it out and get it placed onto the Lego).

6x12 plate
2x2 jumper plate
1x8 each … red, white, blue (FLL colors)

For the recycle bin you could use the following:

a) 21 green 1x2 bricks and 2 45 degree 1x2 slopes (not my favorite combination)
b) 9 green 1x2 bricks, 6 green 1x4 bricks and 2 45 degree 1x2 slopes

Try to have the bricks interlocking when possible. You may decide to glue the pieces together or not...

Of course there are many ways to build it….you could use other combinations of 1x2’s 1x2’s, 1x3’s, 1x4’s. I did 3 full rows high (size is 4x4) then the top row has the opening. Many variations could be done… have a mini figure putting recycle item in the bin, have a lid on the bin… etc…. I tried to keep the overall cost down with this build since we needed so many of them.

You could even use the red/white/blue as name badges…. add a pin to the back… then put on the trophy baseplate when finished.
