6 week old baby seal entangled and rescued

Naude could hardly believe his eyes when saw this entanglement this morning. In a nursing group of new pups, there was a sleeping baby with a fresh entanglement around his neck. These pups are all only around 6 weeks old, and have only started swimming for the first time in the last 3 weeks. He walked up to the sleeping baby and managed to grab him without the pup even waking up.
There were 2 loops of illegally dumped gillnet tight around his throat, but luckily he must have just picked it up in the last few days, and the lines hadn't done any damage yet. These lines would surely have choked him to death soon, as they grow so fast in the early development days. He now has the chance to live a long and happy life.
