Fixing Jaime Lannister’s Ending

Jaime Lannister had one of the most complicated character arcs in Game of Thrones — and his ending should have meant more.

In this rewrite, I break down how Jaime’s final story could have worked if he returned to King’s Landing not because he forgot his growth, but because he knew exactly what Cersei would do when cornered.

When Cersei unleashes wildfire beneath the streets and gates of King’s Landing, Jaime realizes the nightmare is happening all over again: a ruler willing to burn the city rather than lose the throne.

With Arya Stark using her Faceless Men skills to help reach the Red Keep, Jaime is forced to make the same impossible choice that once made him the Kingslayer.

Only this time, he becomes the Queenslayer.

This is my version of how to fix Jaime Lannister’s ending — not by giving him a happy ending, but by giving him a meaningful one.

Let me know in the comments: should Jaime have killed Cersei to save King’s Landing?
