The Hound Character Analysis: The Broken Man Who Still Had a Soul

Sandor Clegane, better known as The Hound, is one of the most brutal characters in Game of Thrones — but he is also one of the most human.

In this character analysis, I break down The Hound’s journey from Joffrey’s violent enforcer to a broken man who still had enough humanity left to protect Sansa, form a strange bond with Arya, face his fear of fire, and ultimately confront the monster who shaped his entire life: his brother, The Mountain.

The Hound was never a perfect hero. He was violent, damaged, and cruel at times. But unlike Gregor Clegane, Sandor was never empty. Underneath the anger and brutality, there was still a soul.

Did The Hound have one of the best arcs in Game of Thrones? Let me know in the comments.
