'Democrats wanted to bate Trump into a race war': Morrow

Sky News host James Morrow says President Donald Trump didn’t take the “bate” thrown to him by the democrats and enter into a political race war.

“The (Democratic Convention) was a very dark vision of America, it was one that was racially divided,” Mr Morrow told Sky News host Paul Murray.

“The word white and whiteness comes up all the time, it was all about how irredeemably racist (America) is.

“Yet the republican convention, they had minority, after minority, after minority getting up and speaking about the promise of America for all Americans - it was a far more positive thing.

“I feel like the democrats were trying to bate the republicans and Trump into a race war essentially that’s been going on in the streets, they wanted to do it politically.”

“Trump did not rise to the bate.”
