Pinellas County Deputies Without Their Emergency Lights Chase Three Teens to their Deaths

Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri has a secret chase policy where he instructs his deputies to turn off their emergency lights when involved in high speed pursuits and chases. He does this so he can claim that they "were not pursuing" people if they crash and kill anyone. Here are two examples of a "lights out chase", the second of which caused three 15-16 year old teen girls to plunge into a pond and drown while PCSO deputies stood by for over 5 minutes and watched their car sink without trying to help them. One of the deputies can even be heard describing how he can hear the girls screaming for their lives.

I will be posting several videos of these "Lights Out" chases by Pinellas deputies, including one where they chase a man for not wearing his seatbelt causing his car to roll over and another where two teens are killed as their car rolls over multiple times and burst into flames. In each case, Sheriff Gualtieri claimed the deaths were not his fault because his deputies were "not chasing" anyone.
