The Legion Bridge is the seventh bridge in Prague on Vltava. It stands on the site of the original chain bridge named after Emperor Francis I. It joins Shooter's Island and the Lesser Quarter. On the initiative of the entrepreneur Vojtěch Lanna, it was built between 1898 - 1901 by the architect and engineer Anthony Balšánek and Jiri Soukup. In 1901 it was opened in the presence of Emperor Franz Joseph I, after whom it was carrying its first name. After World War I, it was given today's name – the Legion Bridge. During World War II, the occupation was renamed again, this time after Bedřich Smetana, in 1960 to the Velvet Revolution, was called the First of May Bridge. The bridge was built in the architectural style of neo Art Nouveau. Its art decoration, such as stone and bronze handrail lighting lampposts, underwent repairs in the years 1981 - 1983 on the occasion of the reconstruction of the National Theatre. On both sides of the bridge, two towers were located to collect tolls in the past. The bridge is 343 meters long and 16 meters wide. It is divided into 8 flat elliptical and 1 round arches. It is built of granite blocks.

Smetana Embankment (Smetanovo nábřeží)begins at the Legion Bridge and runs around Novotného footbridge to the Knights of the Cross Square and then to the Charles Bridge. Due to the attractive view from the Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, and its vicinity to the Old Town, this segment belongs to Prague's most popular tourist areas. Until the mid-19th century, you would not find here anything other than open sandy areas, which gradually sank in the river lined by old fishing cottages and crooked trees. In 1841 - 1845, the first Prague stone embankment was erected, leading from the Charles Bridge to the new chain bridge of Emperor František I. The embankment designed by architect Bernard Gruber and Vojtěch Lanna, famous entrepreneur from České Budějovice built it from chiseled granite blocks. The construction was paid for by the Czech state, which has purchased land in these places. Initially, the embankment didn’t even have a proper name and was simply Embankment or Old Town Embankment.

Charles Bridge (Karlův most) is a medieval stone arch bridge that crosses the Vltava River in Prague, Czech Republic. Its construction started in 1357 under the auspices of King Charles IV and finished in the early 15th century. The bridge replaced the old Judith Bridge built in 1158–1172, which a flood severely damaged in 1342. This new bridge was initially called Stone Bridge (Kamenný most) or Prague Bridge (Pražský most) but has been referred to as "Charles Bridge" since 1870.
Charles Bridge has suffered several disasters and witnessed many historical events. Czech legend has it that construction began on Charles Bridge at 5:31 am on 9 July 1357, with the first stone being laid by Charles IV himself. This time was crucial to the Holy Roman Emperor because he firmly believed in numerology and felt that this specific time, which formed a palindrome (1357 9/7 5:31), was a numerical bridge and would imbue Charles Bridge with additional strength. The bridge was completed 45 years later, in 1402.

Prague Castle ( Pražský hrad) is a castle complex in Prague, Czech Republic, built in the 9th century. It is the official office of the President of the Czech Republic. The castle was a seat of power for kings of Bohemia, Holy Roman emperors, and presidents of Czechoslovakia. The Bohemian Crown Jewels are kept within a hidden room inside it. According to the Guinness Book of Records, Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle in the world, occupying an area of almost 70,000 square meters (750,000 square feet), at about 570 meters (1,870 feet) in length and an average of about 130 meters (430 feet) wide. The castle is among Prague's most visited tourist attractions, attracting over 1.8 million visitors annually.
