Router Sled Operation / bed frame rails and rockler router mounting plate

This is my router sled in operation. It uses bed frames for the rails and a rockler plate for the router mount. Note the thin wood strips in the rounded corners of the bed frames keep the router slide plate flat. Ren wax makes it all slide well. I would like some kind of indexing and lock down for the whole sled to the base. I like to use two hands to control the router but here a buddy is trying this for the first time and then quickly was advised to use both hands. Later I'd like to upgrade to a 1/2" rounter but this 1/4" model does the trick.
