Weather: Line of potentially severe weather expected

Severe weather is once again a focus in the deep south, including our entire viewing area. Most are under a level 3 risk for severe weather. Those not are under a level 4...the Northshore and MS. Both sides of the Lake have a risk of stronger, long-tracked tornadoes as well. As it looked like the main energy would remain much farther north, recent models indicate it'll be farther south and thus placing us under a higher risk. Timing looks to be after 4 for the extreme western areas, then moving eastward through the 7 o'clock time frame across most of the Northshore and metro area, the lower Bayou and coast following around the same time and MS after 8. A wind advisory will be in effect and for offshore waters, a gale warning. A cold front will sweep through Thursday lowering humidity a bit and slightly milder temps through Friday. The front may move back northward triggering some showers Saturday, then sunny Sunday.
