Victoria at risk of losing coveted AAA rating
A credit rating agency has warned Victoria could be stripped of its AAA rating within weeks following the state’s extended coronavirus lockdown.
S & P Global Ratings said Victoria’s public finances are “dire” and the state could face the first downgrade of an Australian government in seven years.
Early indications suggest Victoria's 2021 deficit will be greater than 50 percent of its revenue due to aggressive borrowing and spending.
