Rishi Sunak losing re-election campaign will give ‘good ideas a bad name’

Sky News host Peta Credlin says the issue with announcing “worthwhile policy” in the beginning of an election campaign you are “likely to lose” is it gives good ideas a bad name.

“The problem with announcing worthwhile policy at the beginning of an election campaign … you are likely to lose, it tends to give good ideas a bad name,” said.

“In the first major new policy announcement in the British election over the weekend, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak committed his government to a form of national service … citizenship … it is a two-way street.

“Expecting every school leaver to do something for others … or serving in the military for 12 months, it is a good initiative, the pity is that it has not been done for decades.”
