A Baby Elephant & Her Tyre | Khanyisa Has an Exciting Morning of Fun and Games

The day starts as Khanyisa wolfs (or elephants) down her two milk bottles of 3.8 litres in total and heads right out to devour her favourite mineral block. She gets down on her wrists to get close to the block and helps herself to little bits using the very dexterous tips of her trunk and her tiny tusks to dislodge minerals to munch on. The elephant trunk is incredibly agile and as Khanyisa gets bigger and stronger, she is gaining great control over this handy appendage. She enjoys some garden time with her carer, Herman and Adine, before taking a sturdy trot out meet up with the herd! We will share more herd moments in the next video!

Elephants also use their trunks to greet, console, touch, stroke and caress, not only to feed and drink. Without doubt, the elephant’s trunk is one of the most curious, multi-tasking and fascinating of earthly creations and yet another tool in the deep bonding and complex social life of elephants and the ensured survival of the herd.
