Howden's Airship the R-100
built in the 1920s just outside the Yorkshire town of Howden (at R.N.A.S Howden) the R 100 remains to this day the best rigid airship built in the UK and was designed by Barnes Wallis for further information on the R 100 I would recommend a book by Kenneth Deacon "The Men and Women who Built and Flew the R 100" an excellent account of the ship which has been very extensivley reasearched and well written
