Taking the Aptitude Test - How to Become an Electrician Part 2
What’s up future sparkies?
My name is Stephen and this is my second video in a series about how to become an apprentice electrician. This is a fantastic career and one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. If you’re asking yourself if you should become an electrician, the short answer is yes.
In this video I give you a rundown of what to expect when taking the IBEW aptitude test. This test consists of two sections: Math and reading. I let you know what my experience was like when I took the test and give you some tips to help you study and pass this test with flying colors.
The math portion of the test will include questions about but are not limited to:
Whole Numbers
Multiplying Decimals
Dividing Decimals
Adding and Subtracting Fractions
Multiplying Fractions
Rational and Irrational Numbers
Positive and Negative Numbers
Exponents
Basic Algebra
Distributive Property
Linear Equations
Factoring
Multiplying Factors
Factoring Quadratics
Proportions
Equivalent Ratios
Missing Numbers
Sequences
Graphing functions
I hope you find this video to be informational and beneficial. Let me know down in the comments what other electrical related videos you’d like to see from me. I’d like to be a resource for future and current electricians and help out with any questions they might have.
