The electrician aptitude test is conducted by the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers), which uses it to screen candidates for its apprenticeship program. Only those with the highest scores will get to move forward in the hiring process. The test does not test any professional knowledge, rather your understanding of basic math and proper English.
The two sections of the test (algebra and English) contain around 35 questions each, and last between 45-50 minutes each. The algebra section includes questions about topics like polynomials, functions, and equations, whereas the English section focuses mainly on reading comprehension drills.
