Danish Queen Margrethe II arrives for state visit to China

(24 Apr 2014) Denmark's Queen Margrethe II arrived in Beijing on Thursday, marking the start of her four-day state visit to China.
Chinese President Xi Jinping welcomed the Queen at the Great Hall of the People in the Chinese capital, where she attended a ceremony in her honour.
Margrethe then met with Xi for for bilateral talks.
It is the Danish queen's second official visit to China; the previous visit took place 35 years ago, when she became the first Western monarch to visit the country.
