I Had to Turn Back on the GR564 | Hiking Towards Huy, Belgium #GR564

In this video I continue my journey on the GR564 long-distance trail in Belgium, planning to walk the final 20+ kilometres towards Huy on the River Meuse.
It turned into a beautiful winter hiking day: sunshine, temperatures around 10°C, rolling hills, quiet villages, farm tracks and even a few small castles along the way. The GR564 here feels rural and varied, with plenty of ups and downs.
After about 14 kilometres, I reached the area near the castle of Moha and decided to check my route back by public transport from Huy to Braives.
That’s when things changed.
A bus strike meant nothing was certain anymore — and suddenly I had to decide whether to continue or turn back. Sometimes long-distance hiking isn’t about distance, but about adapting to what the day gives you.
This is part of my ongoing GR564 project across Belgium.
As always, I’m hiking with Frodo the dog and Poefi, my small teddy bear mascot.
