Trying to sleep on a roundabout | #RoundaboutChallenge2025 #StealthCampingAlliance

For the November challenge of the #StealthCampingAlliance — the #RoundaboutChallenge2025 — I drove up north to the Netherlands a day early.
My main goal: to hike the final three days of the Pieterpad, the country’s most famous long-distance trail.
But before starting the hike, I wanted to attempt something a bit… unusual.

While scouting for a stealth camping spot, I found a roundabout on Google Maps that looked possible — even with a few bushes for cover. It looked crazy enough to try.

When I arrived, it was already dark, and those bushes weren’t offering much protection.
So before heading in, I sat down at a nearby picnic table for dinner and introduced one of my favorite Belgian beers — Tripel Karmeliet — with a bit of background about it.

Then came the real challenge:
Could I actually sleep on a roundabout without being noticed?
