A look back at the May 31st 2013 El Reno Oklahoma Tornado with extended footage from before and after the Tornado.

The video begins at 4:35pm local time as we drive north towards El Reno and then west on I-40. 1 hour and 25 minutes is condensed into a 16X time lapse. From 6:01pm to 9:05pm, the video and audio runs continuously to document this day.

There is some unique footage of the tornado at 18:00 to our northeast before it crosses HWY 81.

A clear view of the wedge tornado at 28:00 minutes. This is about the time the Twistex crew are impacted.

I turn a local radio station on at 1:16 with live coverage of the weather. You can see a rain wrapped area behind us hiding a likely tornado.

This video is VERY long and runs continuously as we drive across OKC trying to get out of the way of the evolving storm complex that continues to produce tornadoes into the evening. We encounter traffic jams as people leave their homes trying to drive to safety...ultimately putting themselves at greater risk.
