Bendet got her answer after unveiling a 20-item collection at a show at the Russian Tea Room: Only weeks later, she and her original partner, Rebecca Matchett received an order from Barneys for 100 pairs of pants.

Now partnering with Theory founder Andrew Rosen, Bendet is a world-class designer whose funky, classy-punk pieces feature in five freestanding boutiques and more than 800 stores, including Harrods, Bergdorf Goodman and of course, Barneys. Alice + olivia encompasses womens and kids collections, swimwear and cashmere sweaters and a menswear line called anthony + mo.
