“Woman Running with the River” is about a new creation myth of humankind. The performance begins with an encounter of a woman and a man, starting from a learned patriarchal relationship. An unequal balance of power relation splits the woman’s integrity as a subject that makes her question and look for a change. She goes through a journey by the river where she discovers the equal ‘origin of life’. “The myth of the river” empowers her integrity. – Gonca Gümüşayak-



“The permanent quest of human has always been to question the creation, to understand the nature and the universe. By the help of myth, the fiction and the reality intersects. The performance proposes a journey full of images inspired by the symbolic aspects of the myth. The present, the past and the future were brought together to establish a new present. Different layers were constructed from the parts to the whole, from the surface to the deep, from the visible to the invisible. The effort in the realization of “The Woman Running with the River” is a critique of the dictator that effects human’s actions and thoughts internally and externally, and the patriarchal system which dominates it.” – Evren Erbatur-

Gonca Gümüşayak is a choreographer and contemporary dancer in field of physical theatre. She is a studied sociology and choreography, which makes her sensitive to social issues in her artistic creations. Since 2010 she initiated “Performance Planet”, where she creates performing arts project with collective of artists in İstanbul. Her early projects are “Hayali and Sureti”, “Liquid Politics”, “ Silent Scream”, “Re-birth”.

Evren Erbatur is a freelance dramaturge & lecturer who lives in Istanbul, Turkey. She especially works on dramaturgy of the body and creative physical expressions. She studies on her doctoral dissertation which is about embodiment and memory. She produces/performs her own projects as ; “Don’t Afraid of My Questions”, I Am Only a Dramaturge”, “False”, “The Voice of the Flesh”.

Martin Durrmann was born in France, studied physiotherapy. Since 2012 he has been performing as actor in improvisation theatre. He is studying Bachelors in Accademia Teatro Dimitri.

Lia Schädler is a physical theatre performer based in Basel. She has just been graduated from Accademia Teatro Dimitri in 2018. In 2014 she finished the bilingual high school specialized in music (transverse flute). She is investigation on finding a language where dance and circus can serve as the source of the creation of a theatrical piece.

Adrien Borratu is physical theatre artist and filmmaker, born in Switzerland. He finished high school of Art and Design of Geneva. He continues his studies at Accademia Teatro Dimitri.

Silvia Sabogal is filmmaker and graphic designer; She has graduated from SUPSI, Visual Communication Department, Lugano in 2018.
