Guitar Playing - How to Keep Passion Alive - Doug Marks and Michael Angelo Batio

When we first began to play guitar, passion and motivation came easy. And why not? The process was still a complete mystery. It wasn’t difficult to improve because we were at ground zero. We began by taking giant steps learning to play chords, how to tune, and read tablature. This was followed by learning to play favorite songs.

Eventually we reach our first plateau generally caused by not making the effort to learn new material and techniques. After overcoming that event the journey continues with many plateaus each followed by progress.

This conversation between Metal Method instructors Doug Marks and Michael Angelo Batio explains how each personally addresses the challenge of staying passionate and motivated.
