MidMichigan Health's Regional STEMI Program

Michael Lauer, M.D., an Interventional Cardiologist with MidMichigan Health and director of MidMichigan’s Regional STEMI Program, discusses how the program rapidly identify patients suffering from ST segment elevation myocardial infarction, also referred to as STEMI – the most serious type of heart attack. The program is designed to train paramedics to quickly identify STEMI patients so that they can implement lifesaving protocols to bypass the closest Emergency Department and take the patient to the nearest Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) Center.
