The Swimming Hole

This is one of my favorite places to swim in Lake Huron, on the Bruce Peninsula. I'm happy to share this film with you, but the location must remain a secret.

I've been going to this spot my whole life. In fact, growing up I remember seeing an old super 8 film that showed me as a baby out here.

This is the first field test of the DJI Phantom 3 Professional.

Phantom 3 Professional flight results:

The DJI Phantom 3 Professional is relatively easy to fly. The battery lasts around 22 minutes but flight time is reduced as a result of the low battery early warning and the time to safely return to home.

I'm using a Samsung 7 inch tablet as the view screen and it is very hard to see while operating in sunlight conditions and so the Phantom 3 must be flown by sight.

On this day there was little wind and the sky was clear, making the DJI Phantom 3 easy to control. Occasionally the Phantom 3 did drift off course slightly (I believe due to wind), but was overall very easy to control.

The footage was shot in 4K and downgraded to 1080p HD for online streaming. As you can see in the film the footage is clean and crisp. A Polar Pro ND8 filter was used during this shoot (on the Phantom 3).
