The Kilmorie Stone and Graveyard Archaeology on the Rhins of Galloway Coast Path
A standing stone carved with Christian crosses on both sides the Kilmorie Stone is one of the most important archaeological artefacts in Dumfries and Galloway. It stands in the graveyard of Kirkcolm church. A group of volunteers have been doing some work in Kirkcolm to record details of gravestones in the village and I went along to talk to them and take a look at the Kilmorie Stone.

The Rhins of Galloway Coast Path is a new 83 mile circular walking route. When complete you will be able to experience all the stunning scenery of Scotland’s south west coast from the windswept cliffs of the Mull of Galloway to the sheltered waters of Loch Ryan.
