South Sudan’s first Vice President Riek Machar reportedly arrested

South Sudan's vice president has reportedly been placed under house-arrest, with the UN warning this could move the country closer to civil war. The opposition says that First Vice-President Riek Machar’s detention effectively ends the landmark 2018 peace deal, which halted a conflict that killed over 400,000 people.
