Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust released in 2000 and raised the bar for action anime. Directed by a true master of the genre, Yoshiaki Kawajiri, and based off the beautiful Gothic prose of author Hideyuki Kikuchi, D returned to remind us just how badass a vampire hunter can be. In this video, we explore the seminal book series that started it all, the salacious 1985 classic and of course, one of the finest anime films ever made: Bloodlust.
