udaFORMAXX with Herma 400 Label Applicator and ICE Viper TIJ

This video shows you how the udaFORMAXX can be used with a combination of label applicator and thermal inkjet coder to apply promotional flash labels and print date codes in one pass.

The clip shows the udaFORMAXX sleeve feeder running at a fairly steady speed - mostly for the purpose of showing it clearly on video. With sleeves of this size and shape it can run much faster in production, even when coding and flash-labelling at the same time.

Why a thermal inkjet coder?

Most of our udaFORMAXX sleeve feeder/coder combinations are supplied with a continuous inkjet printer but we are increasingly supplying them fitted with thermal inkjet (TIJ) printers. This tends to be either because of the print orientation on the sleeve (TIJ can print across, whereas CIJ has to print along the direction of travel) or because of customer preference for the technology.

Applying promotional flash labels

With a label applicator fitted to the udaFORMAXX sleeve feeder, you can label multiple product lines ahead of each day's production with no hold up on your hot lines. Labels are positioned accurately each time and it saves a huge amount of labour cost over hand-stickering.
