udaFORMAXX Coding Food Sleeves at High Speed

This video shows small food sleeves (for tubs) being fed and coded at high speed on the udaFORMAXX offline coding system.

The shingling conveyor makes it very easy for one operator to load and remove the sleeves while maintaining high throughput. These sleeves are coded with an alphaJET mondo continuous inkjet.

How does it work?

This video clip was taken in our workshop while testing one set of sleeves for a new customer. The system is being used to code a large number of sleeves in different shapes and sizes - but all loaded in their flat-form.

1. Messages (date codes in required formats and sizes) are pre-programmed via the touchscreen interface on the alphaJET mondo industrial inkjet printer

2. Operators select the correct message and adjust the in-feed on the udaFORMAXX for the required speed.

3. Sleeves are loaded into the in-feed magazine - operators can continue to load them while the machine is running

3. The udaFORMAXX grabs the sleeves using rollers and belt feed and they pass under the inkjet head for printing with the date code

4. The printed sleeves are ejected into the shingling conveyor

5. Operators gather coded sleeves from the conveyor ready for the production line
