Crosstour CT9500 action cam unboxing, review and video sample
Buy the Crosstour CT9500 action camera on Amazon.com: https://amzn.to/2u5nL2H
I had previously purchased the Crosstour CT9100 which was a great camera for the price, so when this came out, I jumped on it. Some of the review you’re about to read is very similar to my review of the CT9100, because this camera is mostly the same.
The major differences between the two are that the CT9500 is 4k@50FPS (big bonus), this newer version allows you to choose between narrow, normal and wide angle shots and the batteries that come with this camera are also a considerably larger at around 1350mAh, while the batteries for the older version were only 1050mAh. Also, this camera can be used as a webcam when connected to your computer with the included USB cable.I can definitely recommend this camera if you’re looking for a great alternative one of the big name brands that also carry the big price tags. One thing to note on this camera is that is does have a fixed focal length and it does not like to focus very much on objects that are closer than 3- 3.5 feet away. If you look at the video sample in my video, you can see the difference in sharpness between myself and items in the background.
The following is from my review for the older version and it all applied to this newer, upgraded version as well.
“Here are my observations:
- The camera itself is compact and lightweight and the included case gives you both options of waterproof and not (for recording audio).
- The number of mounts included is simply ridiculous! I never thought I'd have so many mounting options!
- The video quality is great, although the camera does get a bit warm while recording 4K video (manufacturer says this is normal).
- The audio quality isn't the best, but this camera wasn't intended to record blockbuster movies, it was designed for action/sports/underwater shots.- The camera includes 2 batteries, and the included charger can charge them both so you don't have too much downtime while waiting for batteries to charge
- the charger is powered by USB which means you can charge it in the car or from a power bank.- The user interface isn't fancy and flashy, but as soon as you get the hang of it, it's actually extremely easy to use and intuitive.
- You can connect a smartphone to the camera via a built-in wifi connection and their app. You have full control over the camera and all the settings, as well as the ability to download photos and videos. While photos download just fine, I would not recommend downloading video as it takes too long (plug the camera into your computer for that!).
Thanks for watching!
