HOW I GOT A B1/B2 VISA FOR THE UNITED STATES
Hey guys,
Thanks for checking me out, here are the key points from the video if you would like to avoid watching it till the end.
1. Dress formally (business casual is absolutely fine)
2. Arrive about 1-2 hours before your appointment
3. Be yourself and be genuine
4. Use answers that are straight to the point
5. Get your documents prepared just in case.
To explain a bit more about the points above:
First, I like dressing up for events, even if it's with my old blazer and shirt. It still shows that you took time to prepare. The next thing is to be there about 1-2 hours prior. Preferably 1 and a half hours before to avoid the long queues. The queue when I was there had around 300/400 people and it was approximately 1 hour wait.
I finally went in (everything happens so fast when you are actually in), they gave me a slip with a unique number. I then sat and waited for my number to show on the big screen. When my number showed together with the desk that I had to go to, I went and showed my documents. They took them and checked if everything is alright. They took my fingerprints and gave me the documents back.
They advised to wait on the other line until they say my name.
I went and waited for about 20-30 minutes (there was a water fountain in so don't worry, you won't be dehydrated).
My interview finally started. The 5 questions they asked me were:
1. "What is the purpose of your trip?"
Answer: "I am visiting a friend"
2. "What are you planning on doing there"
Answer: "I am planning on doing a road trip with him to Nashville."
3. "Do you have any relatives in the States"
Answer: "No, I do not have any relatives there"
4. " How long have you been living here in the UK"
Answer: "I have been living in the UK for 5 years."
5. "Do you have any relatives in the UK?"
Answer: "No, I don't
6. - FORGOT TO MENTION THIS ONE IN THE VIDEO
"What do you do?"
Answer: "I am a personal banker in a major bank in the UK"
LAST:
"OKAY SIR, YOUR VISA IS APPROVED"
And that was it guys! I am sure you will get your visa!!!
