Easy Wall Mirror Decor DIY- A Kinda Failed Attempt!

Have you ever tried doing a DIY and it didn’t turn out to be as expected? Well, that’s the good/bad part of it, depending on how you want to look at it. I attempted to re-create an Overstock- inspired mirror using a crafting mirror piece and some thin, flat reed coil, which is used for basket weaving, but it did not turn out to be that great (at least that’s my view). I started with measuring the reed and cutting them of the desired length and stuck them around the mirror using some hot glue. Similarly, I measured, cut and stuck the smaller pieces on these bigger pieces by making a slit on both the pieces, by using some mod podge. Once done, paint everything with some black latex paint. Now, as I said, I was not too happy with the outcome, but that’s the beauty of DIYs. You are mostly not sure of how your project is going out to be. So if you are failing, try to think of ways of how you can redeem it and if that’s not possible, then atleast you know that maybe the method/steps that you adopted were possibly not the best, and you should try something else. In any case, keep trying and of course, happy DIYing!

1. Mirror (in the size 7”)
2. All-purpose construction adhesive
3. Masking tape
4. Thin, flat reed coil (in ½” width)
5. Hot glue
6. Mod podge
7. Black latex paint
8. Scissors
