3 Richie Kotzen Licks From 1993

Here's the next episode of Three-For-All with 3 Richie Kotzen Licks From 1993.
I did feature Richie in a Three-For-All lesson last year, which was more-or-less a look at some ideas from his old REH instructional video 'Rock Chops,' while this lesson focuses on some ideas that came from a live performance when he worked with the group Poison in the early 1990s, which was a short-lived endeavor during his lengthy and established career.

This lesson centers around some expressive and interesting licks and phrases, including some choice string bending and elaborate melodic ideas, along with some busier runs and movements, such as an Eric Johnson-esque pentatonic run near the end of the episode.

Richie is a very soulful and fluid guitarist to notice and study some of his musical habits and signature phrase ideas. For me personally, I know I got a lot of mileage from learning some of his intense legato phrasing, string-skipped arpeggio movements, tapped ideas, and gutsy blues-based string bending and melodic material found in his music.

And just a head's up - but this lesson will be followed with another Three-For-All lesson that takes a look at some live ideas coming from Blues Saraceno, who replaced Richie in Poison after Kotzen was fired in late 1993 from the group and some of the juicy details surrounding his firing are shared in this lesson as well.
