How To Automatically Turn Off Facebook Ad Comments

There isn't a direct "automatic turn off comments" option during ad creation that prevents comments from the outset. Facebook ads are built upon posts, which inherently allow comments. However, you can achieve this by using an unpublished post, often called a "dark post." First, create your ad creative as an unpublished post directly from your Facebook Page's Publishing Tools or through Ads Manager by selecting "Use Existing Post" and then "Create Post." Immediately after this post is created and before it starts running as an ad, navigate to that specific post on your Page (you might need to find it under "Published Posts" or "Ad Posts" in Publishing Tools). Click the three-dot menu on the top right of the post and select "Turn off commenting." Once commenting is disabled on the source post, any ad run using that specific post ID will automatically have comments turned off for its entire duration, requiring no further manual intervention during the ad campaign. While this involves a one-time manual action per post, it effectively automates the absence of comments for the ad's lifespan.
