‘It’s coming up’: Israel hours away from ground assault into Gaza
The Israeli Defence Force is set to begin its ground assault into Gaza any day now, says Middle East Forum security analyst Jonathan Spyer.
According to Mr Spyer, the reports of a ground assault over the weekend were true but the operation was delayed due to unideal weather conditions.
“It’s coming up in hours, maybe still a day or two but it’s coming,” he told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“When the IDF does enter in force the Gaza strip with tanks, APCs, engineering vehicles – it’s going to have a tough mission ahead of it.
“Hamas has had many years now, 16 years in government to prepare for this.”
