FARM TO TABLE Pork | How Does it Taste - What Did it Cost 💲
We purchased (2) Idaho Pasture Feeder piglets at 8 weeks of age. We raised them on our homestead for 7 months, before sending them off to the processor. Now that we have the meat back, it's time to dig in and see how it tastes. We'll also cover what it cost to raise them from start to finish.
(2) Feeder Pigs $200 (100 each)
Feed Costs $420 ($15 per week)
Processing & Packaging $390
TOTAL Cost: $1010
Hanging Weight: 182 + 159 = 341 Pounds
Bringing the total cost of the end product to be about $2.96 per pound.
The processor we used is: https://jeromecountrymarketllc.com/
