Don't Start Me Talkin' Guitar Lesson

Don't Start Me Talkin' is one of the most covered blues songs you could name: The Doobie Brothers, New York Dolls, Bob Dylan and so many blues artists have recorded or play this in their sets. I've played it a million times with Tail Dragger! But a close look at the original by Sonny Boy II (Rice Miller) showed me that I could definately learn a thing or two from the orginal, featuring Muddy Waters on a swaggering bass line and Jimmy Rogers on lead.
I took a little look at James Cotton's version on Verve records with Luther Tucker-- they were the 'next generation' of their day as proteges of Sonny Boy II and Robert Lockwood. It crackles with energy especially abetted by the awesome rhythm section of Bob Anderson and Sam Lay.
