Baby Boy Warren Guitar Lesson

By request from a Patreon supporter! This lesson looks at Detroit blues master Baby Boy Warren's guitar style. I love the OG electric blues guitarists of the late 40s and early 50s. The clanging open strings and earthy chords that they first learned on acoustic guitars down South transitioned to their nifty new distorted electric guitars and amps in such a fresh and exciting way. Warren shows muscular and highly individual bass lines, wry and observant lyrics, and dead-on guitar solos which always lead back to the chord and the song structure. So many of his songs are just great for beginning guitarists to really dig down into-- just check out the "Stop Breaking Down" collection on Official Records and you'll see what I mean. I looked at "Let's Renew Our Love" and "Santa Fe", which also features Calvin Frazier (who'll be the subject of a later lesson for sure!) I can't figure out which part Calvin plays and which one Baby Boy Warren plays, but I'd love to know.
