NOBODY (LIVE) - DAVE EDMUNDS BAND FEAT. GERAINT WATKINS

Being the fantastic piano player he is, the great Geraint Watkins has long been the secret weapon of many a band. I first became aware of him as a member of Dave Edmunds' post-'Rockpile' band. Then others of his activities gradually emerged for me: Playing with 'Shakin' Stevens', Geraint's own bands 'The Dominators' and the 'Balham Alligators', Bill Wyman's 'Willie & The Poor Boys', Mickey Jupp's 'Cable Layers', Paul McCartney, Nick Lowe, 'The Refreshments' . . . on and on it goes.

I'm not sure who's done the original recording of Wayne Carson Thompson's "Nobody" (it might well be Bruce Channel in 1968). I first heard it on the eponymous 1979 LP by Geraint and 'The Dominators'. Or was it on the album "Marie, Marie" a.k.a. "This Ole House" by 'Shakin' Stevens' from one year later? Anyway - after having recorded it himself, Geraint brought the song into the repertoire of 'Shaky' and did the same again when he became a member of Dave Edmunds' band in 1981.

This truly rockin' version by the 'Edmunds Band' was one of several occasions where Geraint got a lead vocal spot during their shows. It was recorded on April 10, 1982 at Amsterdam's 'Paradiso' (dubbed "The Drugadiso" by Edmunds). I hope you enjoy!
