Kurt Warner Ranks Mac Jones #3 QB in 2021 NFL Draft

Number three on my list of 2021 NFL Draft QB prospects is Mac Jones…I have him ranked here because I believe he is the best processor of information in this year’s draft. If you’re going to look at raw athleticism and body size, that’s where he probably suffers more than anyone else – his lack of physicality.

What he does show is what I call quarterback athleticism…the ability to control his body and make the different kinds of throws…making plays inside the pocket, even when his feet are off schedule.

But his processing is what really impresses me about Mac Jones. His ability to understand what he is seeing and what the concept is pre-snap…understand what the look is and be able to quickly eliminate certain options. Then post-snap, using his eyes and his shoulders to manipulate the defense and get guys to turn. Recognize what he’s getting, recognize the different kinds of throws he needs to make, and know what he’s doing with the football in a timely fashion. #2021NFLDraft #MacJones #KurtWarner
