Good Morning Sunflower | Distinctly Michigan with Mike Castellucci

In Bancroft Michigan, the same family, the VanAgen’s, have owned their farm since 1852. It’s designated as a Michigan Centennial Farm. Their main crop is sod on their 23-hundred acres. But they also rotate crops like corn, soybeans and occasionally—sunflowers. There’s a story behind those bright yellow heads. So many times there’s a story within a story. It seems like every time they grow them, people find them. In this case, a fashion photographer wanted to use the fields for a special shoot.
