One of the most exciting moments of my musical life was suddenly understanding how chords work and how to experiment with major and minor harmonies to create a tune.
Chords I, IV and V are the three major chords of all major keys, and they’re the chords used most often in music. So being comfortable with the arpeggios of these chords - in whatever key you choose - is a big help in creating or accompanying a tune.
In the video you can see how straightforward it is to make up a tune with these three chords. As before, the tune has a clear rhythm and ends on the tonic to give it structure.
