Medical Shops Inspected by Kulgam Police Under 100-Day Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

Kulgam, May 14:
As part of the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Kulgam Police on Wednesday conducted inspection drives at various medical shops in the main town area to curb the misuse and illegal sale of banned and controlled substances.

The inspection campaign was carried out under the directions of SSP Kulgam Anayat Ali Chowdhary and was led by Sub-Inspector Nidhi Sharma along with police teams.

During the drive, officials inspected sale records, verified prescriptions, and sensitized chemists regarding strict compliance with laws governing the sale of medicines and pharmaceutical drugs. The campaign aimed to prevent the misuse of prescription medicines and strengthen efforts against drug abuse in the district.

Officials said that such inspections will continue across different areas of the district to ensure transparency and accountability in the functioning of medical shops and to safeguard the youth from the menace of drugs and substance abuse.

Kulgam Police reiterated its commitment towards making the district drug-free and appealed to the public, medical shop owners, and civil society members to cooperate in the collective fight against narcotics and substance abuse.
